A pocket-sized book that’s handy to refer to before, after, and even during the game, the NIRSA Slow Pitch Softball Rules Book and Umpires’ Manual, Third Edition, includes all of the latest rule changes and updates for campus recreational softball. The third edition has been expanded to include an umpires’ manual. The umpires’ manual covers general principles, signals, mechanics for plate and base umpires, and basic umpiring tips. Developed by the NIRSA Softball Committee, the manual will standardize umpiring across NIRSA member schools and help ensure umpires’ and participants’ safety.
